Find your bin collection day

You can check your next bin (recycling, refuse and garden waste) collection day by using our online address look up tool.

At this time of year as temperatures drop the contents of your bins can become frozen. Our crews will attempt to empty frozen bins but sometimes the contents can become stuck.
To avoid your bin not being emptied, please:

  • Check the lid of your bin will open before collection is due
  • If you have a lot of garden waste, do not squash it into the bin
  • Loosen the waste by sliding a spade between the contents and the side of the bin
  • If possible, store your bin in a slightly warmer place, against a wall or inside a garage or shed
  • Try to keep liquid to a minimum in your kitchen and general waste bins. Moisture from bin bags in wheelie bins creates condensation, which makes wheelie bin lids more likely to freeze in very cold weather.

Please note:

  • We are unable to specify a specific time for collection, so you should ensure that your bins are placed in front of your property boundary before 7am to avoid a missed collection.
  • Bin collection(s) can occur any time between 7am - 5pm.
  • For most, your waste bin and recycling bin will be collected on alternate weeks, instead of every week – as reflected in the bin calendars.
  • Bin collections change during public holidays. These changes are not reflected in the annual collection calendars. Please check our website for revised collection schedules, or follow us on social media.
  • Use the address lookup to find out which bin calendar best suits your  collection pattern.
  • The bin calendars are intended as a guide to our two most common collection patterns.
  • If you pay for your garden waste to be collected - your collection date is included in the address look up tool above.
