The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the timetable for the preparation of planning policy documents which shape the future of the District.

The Council has agreed that the District Plan 2018 needs updating. Formal work will commence at the end of 2024 under the new planning system.

In the meantime, work has commenced on updating the technical studies needed to provide a robust evidence base to inform an update of the District Plan.

The last LDS was agreed in July 2020 and is now out of date. The Council will publish an updated LDS in due course.
