Procurement Rules, Regulations and Strategy

The Council must follow European and UK Legislation on Public Sector Purchasing. In addition to this we also have our own Procurement Regulations and thresholds that must be adhered to below the OJEU threshold.

European and UK Regulations

There are certain thresholds of spend that are dictated by the Official Journal for the European Community (OJEU). These thresholds which change regularly. You can view the current EU Procurement Thresholds on the OJEU website. Anything over these thresholds must be tendered and advertised in the OJEU, as well as the council website. Other areas include the Supply Hertfordshire website and the Contracts Finder - Gov.uk website.

Procurement Strategy

The National Procurement Strategy for Local Government in England sets out a vision for local government procurement and encourages all councils in England to engage with the delivery of outcomes in four key areas.
