The Neighbourhood Plan has been formally 'adopted' and will be used as a part of the East Herts Development Plan.

Independent Examination
Ann Skippers MRTPI has been appointed to undertake the independent examination of the Walkern Neighbourhood Plan. All correspondence between the examiner and East Herts District Council will be published below.

6 Week Public Consultation (Reg. 16)
Walkern Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to East Herts District Council on 7th September 2017. East Herts Council undertook a 6 week public consultation between the 5th October 2017 and 16th November 2017.

Pre-Submission Consultation (Reg 14)
Walkern Parish Council consulted on their Draft Neighbourhood Plan between January and February 2017. The Parish Council are now in the process of collating the responses received and amending their Plan as a result of any issues raised through the consultation. The Plan will then be submitted to East Herts Council.

Neighbourhood Area Designation
The Walkern Neighbourhood Area was declared a Neighbourhood Area on the 6th January 2015. The designation request and map defining the area can be viewed below:
