Bishop's Stortford 'Parks and Beyond' circular walks

Circular Riverside Walks

Riverside Trails Circular riverside walks- Hertford to Ware along Lee Navigation, and Bishop's Stortford along the Stort Navigation and through the Town. Find out more on the Canal and River Trust website. 

Foxholes Woodland Walk, Hertford

An all-weather circular walking route that passes through a variety of habitats from grassland to woodland carpeted with bluebells in the spring. More information and a map of the walk is available in our Foxholes Woodland page

Cole Green Way / Hertford to Ware Towpath

The Cole Green Way is a disused railway line that runs from Welwyn to Hertford. The pleasant off-road route is suitable for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The link through Hertford connects to the tow path along the River Lea, taking you to Ware and beyond.

Lee Valley Walk

The Lee Valley Walk is a 50-mile way marked route, following the River Lee from the Thames, via Hertford and Harpenden to Luton, through a variety of rural and urban landscapes. For more information visit the Visit Lee Valley website - Walking, Running and Cycling in the Lea Valley.

Hertford - Beyond Hartham Common

Three new circular walking routes have been mapped out as part of an initiative connecting communities in and around Hertford to green open spaces, encouraging low impact exercise and to help improve general health and wellbeing. This Beyond Hartham map is available to download.
