District and Parish elections will be taking place on the 2nd May.  Polling cards will be sent out from Monday 25th March.  For up to date information, please see our Local Elections 2019 page

Register to Vote

How to Vote

You can vote in person at a polling station, by post or by proxy. In order to vote you must be registered to vote.

Types of election

There are several types of elections. This page aims to provide more information

Find my Polling Station

The location of your polling station will be on your poll card that was sent to you before polling day. You don't need a poll card to vote but it is helpful to take with you.

Annual canvass of households - electoral register update

Each year from July 1st, we are legally required to update our Electoral Register. We send forms to every household so we can confirm who is eligible to register to vote. This is a legal requirement and you must respond to this request.

Unsubscribe from receiving elections emails

To confirm that you no longer wish East Herts Council's Electoral Registration Officer or Returning Officer to contact you by e-mail, please click the link above to complete the unsubscribe form

Referendums/Petitions

The council can be petitioned to hold a referendum on whether our district should change to a different form of governance.
