Community Car Scheme
The Community Car Scheme for East Herts offers affordable transport to disabled or elderly community members who cannot access public transport or any other means of transportation.
The Scheme relies entirely on the support of voluntary drivers using their own vehicles in their spare time. The client pays the driver directly, after the journey. Lifts are charged at 45p/mile.
Journeys can be arranged Monday to Sunday but weekend trips may be limited due to availability of volunteer drivers.
Trips can include health related appointments (no emergencies) as well as appointments for social purposes and everyday needs (e.g. shopping, visiting).
To register and book a lift call 0300 123 1677 or email to communitycar@cvsbeh.org.uk
We also welcome new volunteers from all over East Herts. For details please visit the East Herts Community Transport website.
