Pro-skaters, Nick Remon and Alfie Mills, headlined the skate jam which marked the official opening of Castle Park’s new skate park by the Mayor of Bishop’s Stortford, Richard Townsend.
Three new high quality tennis courts situated to the north of Castle Park are now open. Accredited by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), they will provide a significantly enhanced experience for Bishop’s Stortford’s tennis enthusiasts.
The Castle Park project has been given the go-ahead to tackle the challenges recently encountered with the skate park and the conversion of the decommissioned toilet block, which is due to be refurbished into a new studio.
The Friends of Castle Park are a group of volunteers who dedicate their free time to enhancing Castle Park, which is situated in the heart of Bishops Stortford.
The extension and reconstruction of the skate park at Sworder’s Field in Bishop’s Stortford forms part of the Castle Park redevelopment project that is supported by funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery Community Fund.
Work to transform Castle Park and surrounding area in Bishop’s Stortford is set to begin with archaeological assessments commencing this week and construction set to start on 22 August to deliver:
