Hertfordshire County Council elections will take place on Thursday 1 May 2025. There are ten divisions in East Herts represented by a County Councillor.
Every year, our Electoral Registration Officer has a legal duty to undertake an audit of all household voter registrations in East Herts and produce a new Register of Electors by 1 December. This process is known as the Annual Canvass.
Residents are being urged not to miss out on their chance to vote in this year’s local elections, which take place across East Herts on Thursday, 4 May.
Applications are now open for a new form of free ID that can be used at elections. Ahead of a new voter ID requirement, the UK Government has opened the online portal for the ID, known as the Voter Authority Certificate, for voters that do not already have an accepted form of photo ID.
East Herts residents will begin receiving communications in the coming weeks as part of the annual electoral registration canvass; to ensure those living in the district, and entitled to register to vote, are registered and their details up to date.
The annual publication of the Electoral Register for East Hertfordshire on 1 December reveals that there are currently 112,729 people registered to vote across the district.
