East Herts Council has declared the results of the local elections that took place across the district on Thursday, 4 May.

The political make-up of the council is now:

•    19 Green
•    16 Conservative
•    10 Liberal Democrat
•    5 Labour

With no party achieving a majority, this means that the council is in no overall control. The new Leader and Executive will be confirmed at the Annual Council meeting on 17 May.

East Herts residents continue to be represented by 50 ward councillors. The district now has 26 wards, four fewer than before, including a larger three-councillor ward for Buntingford and a new pattern of wards for Bishop’s Stortford.
