East Herts Council is launching a consultation for people to have their say on the proposals for the redevelopment of Hartham Leisure Centre in Hertford.

As part of East Herts Council's large investment in leisure, Hartham Leisure centre in Hertford will be refurbished and expanded.

Now is your chance to get a first look at the proposals for a new two-storey extension, exciting external works such as new landscaping and seating areas along with plans to increase sustainability.

Following the planning application deferral in January 2019, the project team have worked hard to develop a design that Hertford can be proud of, with sustainability placed at the heart of the scheme.

This is your opportunity to have your say on the redevelopment proposals through an online survey. The consultation period will launch on Monday 24 August and close on Monday 7 September.

The plans and online consultation material is now available via www.eastherts.gov.uk/harthamdevelopment

Eric Buckmaster, executive member for wellbeing, East Herts Council, said:

"We are delighted to be moving forwards to invest in improved leisure facilities in Hertford. The health and wellbeing of our residents is of upmost important to the council and, at a time when wellbeing is at the forefront of everyone's minds, it is fantastic to be able to show residents our plans to provide these superb new services and facilities."

If you require a paper copy of the proposals and a paper copy of the survey, either e-mail your request to leisureprojects@eastherts.gov.uk or request a copy from our customer services team on 01279 655261.

Following the public consultation period, the project team will review all of the feedback we receive and take those comments forward as part of the next stage in the design process. The team are aiming to submit a planning application by the middle of September.
