We understand the frustration and inconvenience this situation is causing, and both councils would like to apologise to residents for that.
Temporary repair work to the bridge surface will start on Wednesday, 16 February and is expected to complete on Thursday, 17 February with the bridge reopening that evening.
More substantial repairs to the surface are being planned for later in the spring.
