East Herts District Council, Bishop’s Stortford Town Council and Bishop’s Stortford Improvement District (BID) are debuting a festive eco-friendly skating rink at the disused Charringtons Car Park in the town centre.

Open to the public on December 28, 29 and 30, the free-to-skate rink will be able to accommodate 40 people at a time - 30 of which are pre-bookable online with the other 10 reserved for walk-ins. Skates will be provided, and sessions will run on an hourly basis.
Currently, all pre-bookable slots have been filled. We ask if you cannot attend your pre-booked slot, please cancel your booking, so further spaces may become available for others.

East Herts District Councillor Sarah Copley, who is also a BID board member and town councillor, as well as Bishop’s Stortford’s Deputy Mayor, said,
“I’m very excited about the collaborative efforts between our local councils and the BID to drive footfall into the town centre over the festive period.

“All parties involved in the project are incredibly proud to be offering this space to our local communities, and are hopeful of additional events taking place between The Causeway and Charringtons in the coming months.

“Whilst the holiday season can be a great time of cheer, it can also be the most difficult period of the year for some. We are delighted to be able to offer these skating rink sessions for free, so that all can enjoy it and create new festive memories with their friends and families.”
