At Southern Country Park on Tuesday 25 July (12pm to 3pm) you can take part in a nature trail, dog show, children’s activities and try your hand at fishing.
The Pishiobury Park event is on Thursday 27 July (12pm to 3pm) with plenty of things to get involved with including a bug hunt and nature trail, craft activities and the chance to meet the graziers who manage the cattle that graze the park.
Both parks will be hosting an ice cream van and the council is encouraging families to bring along a picnic. The East Herts Healthy Hub team have some fun activities planned for their stall and both the Friends of Southern Country Park and Friends of Pishiobury Park will be on hand with lots of information about the work they do to help maintain these picturesque open spaces in East Herts.
Executive Member for Wellbeing at East Herts Council, Sarah Hopewell, said: “We are so lucky in East Herts to have a selection of great parks and open spaces so easily accessible for our communities. I would like to encourage residents to come and join us in celebrating Love Parks Week and spend time with friends and family in the outdoors.
“These events mark the start of the school summer holidays and are an ideal way to entertain children at an organised event, outside in the fresh air, with plenty of family activities to get involved with.”
The events are free, and everyone is welcome. Further details, including the timings of the various planned activities taking place, are on the website.
