The Council has agreed that the 2018 District Plan needs updating. To help inform this update, the Council has launched a Call for Sites. This is an opportunity for individuals, landowners, developers, and other interested parties to submit sites that could potentially be used to build houses, employment space, community facilities or for helping nature recover.

By submitting potential sites, stakeholders can actively participate in shaping the future of East Herts as the Council begins the process of reviewing its District Plan. The East Herts Call for Sites is open from Friday 5 July until Monday 30 September 2024.

Cllr Vicky Glover-Ward, East Herts Council Executive Member for Planning and Growth, said: ‘The Council is seeking a wide variety of potential sites, including housing, employment, community facilities, as well as land for wildlife habitat creation and enhancement. The Call for Sites is a key first stage in the District Plan Review process and provides the first opportunity for the community to contribute to shaping the future of East Herts through sustainable development. We want everyone to have a voice in this process and look forward to hearing from you!’

The easiest way for people to submit suggested sites is through the Council’s website. Visit the planning section of the East Herts website to find out more and submit your site.
