Places for People is due to carry out ground investigations on land required for the proposed Eastern Stort Crossing route, to further inform its design.

These enabling works are being undertaken in accordance with the approved planning permission for the new Eastern Stort Crossing.

Works will commence on the week of Monday 1 July 2024 for a total of four months, and consist of the creation of small diameter boreholes and trial pits, a broadly passive exercise with limited disruption to the local environment beyond the noise of moving plant/machinery.

Because of the former use of parts of the site as landfill, extra safety precautions will be in place for the onsite team which will include additional personal protective equipment such as masks and overalls to protect them in the unlikely event of exposure to contamination. There is no risk to the public arising from these works.

If you have any questions regarding these investigation works, then please do get in touch either by calling our dedicated Freephone number 0800 148 8911 (Monday – Friday 9am-5:30pm) or by emailing us at construction@gilston.info and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
