To establish the most effective route network map that appropriately serves and connects our local communities, the two authorities are inviting residents to offer their feedback using an online platform – Esri Hub. Insight provided by residents is invaluable as it will help shape the formal consultation process due to take place later in the year.
Residents in the following areas now have the chance to identify the barriers they face, whilst also being able to offer suggestions towards improving the draft network route map:
• Hertford and Ware
• Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth
• Buntingford
• Villages including Braughing, Hertford Heath, Hunsdon, Much Hadham, Standon & Puckeridge, Stanstead Abbotts & St Margarets, Walkern and Watton-at-Stone
Vicky Glover-Ward, Executive Member for Planning and Growth at East Herts District Council, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for residents to directly influence the future of walking and cycling in their communities."

Furthermore, Cllr Phil Bibby, Executive Member for Highways and Transport at Hertfordshire County Council, said, “I’d like to thank everyone who registered an interest in the East Herts LCWIP since May. This next stage of engagement is to provide us with feedback on potential routes, which will in turn help to shape what the local walking and cycling network could look like in the future."
