Four People Engaging With An Energy Hub In East Herts
East Herts Council has commissioned the Energy Saving Trust to provide training for local people keen to volunteer at nearby community events, so that they can engage with residents about the financial and environmental benefits of saving energy and reducing carbon in the home.

Energy Hubs in East Herts are run throughout the year by town councils, East Herts Council and a growing community of volunteers. The dedicated volunteers share energy-saving hints and tips, let people know about available funding, resources and information and also answer any questions people might have.

Until Friday, 21 March, prospective volunteers can apply for expert training to equip them with the knowledge, confidence and skills to help members of the public with energy-saving advice.

Cllr Tim Hoskin, Executive Member for Sustainability, said, “Volunteering at an Energy Hub in East Herts is a great way that you can get stuck in and contribute to tackling climate change and its effects. The Energy Saving Trust training provides an excellent opportunity for residents across East Herts to support continued joint efforts to make the district more sustainable. The Energy Hubs aim to enhance the lives of residents and the volunteers are crucial in sharing critical information that could save people a significant amount of energy, time and money.”
