Local Validation List

Consultation on Revised Local List of Validation Requirements for Planning and Listed Building Consent Applications

The List of Validation Requirements tells applicants for planning and listed building consent applications what information is required for their application to be validated by the Council. These requirements are reviewed every 2 years to ensure they are still relevant to current legislation. A number of changes to comply with new Biodiversity Net Gain Legislation have also been added. Hertfordshire Local Authorities have been working together to produce shared lists to avoid any discrepancies between councils. East Herts and Dacorum Councils are the first to consult on the revisions with the other Herts Councils following over the next 12 months.

The information required to be submitted with applications must be reasonable to the nature and scale of the proposed development and may be required where it is reasonable to think that the matter will be a material consideration in the determination of the application.

Public consultation on the revised Local Validation List begins on Monday 14 October 2024 and ends on Monday 11 November 2024. Please return all comments:

  • by email to planning@eastherts.gov.uk or
  • Development Management, East Herts Council, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford, SG13 8EQ.

Comments will be considered and reported for formal resolution and adoption.  Following consultation and any necessary amendments, these validation requirements will be required to be submitted as part of all planning applications.
