Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club – a not for profit organisation run by coaches, teachers and volunteers - signed up to the East Herts Lottery in 2020 to help raise vital funds needed following the impacts of Covid-19 and temporary closure of their coaching programmes and learn to swim school.

The first of 24 new affordable homes at the Manor Links development in Bishop’s Stortford, a partnership between Stonebond, Sage Homes and East Herts Council, have been handed over to local people.

Local sports organisation, Bengeo Tigers Football Club – who signed up to the East Herts Lottery in 2019 – have so far raised £3.033.50* and used the funds to help increase the number of girls joining their development group (age 4-6 years), make improvements to the clubhouse and keep membership fees down.

Hightown Housing Association and East Herts District Council have celebrated the first phase opening of a new housing development in Buntingford that will deliver 34 brand-new affordable homes – eight for shared ownership and 26 for social rent, including four wheelchair accessible bungalows prioritised for people with assessed mobility needs.

East Herts Council licensing and enforcement officers jointly co-ordinated an operation with Sergeant Terry Alcock from Hertfordshire Police’s East Herts Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team last week (Wednesday, 26 October) specifically targeted at companies without the necessary licences to dispose of waste safely and individuals using dangerous, unroadworthy vehicles in the district.
