Applications are now open for a new form of free ID that can be used at elections. Ahead of a new voter ID requirement, the UK Government has opened the online portal for the ID, known as the Voter Authority Certificate, for voters that do not already have an accepted form of photo ID.

Following agreement by Executive on 25 October 2022, East Herts Council will begin the phasing of 180L refuse bins when existing general waste bins need to be replaced because they are lost or damaged. This will also begin the transition to standard bin sizes and colours for East and North Herts which will save money and improve stock levels for replacements.

Local sports organisation, Bengeo Tigers Football Club – who signed up to the East Herts Lottery in 2019 – have so far raised £3.033.50* and used the funds to help increase the number of girls joining their development group (age 4-6 years), make improvements to the clubhouse and keep membership fees down.

Hightown Housing Association and East Herts District Council have celebrated the first phase opening of a new housing development in Buntingford that will deliver 34 brand-new affordable homes – eight for shared ownership and 26 for social rent, including four wheelchair accessible bungalows prioritised for people with assessed mobility needs.
