Visitors who came to celebrate #LoveParksWeek at the East Herts Council run free family events in Southern Country Park, Bishop’s Stortford and Pishiobury Park, Sawbridgeworth this week enjoyed dog shows, tug of war, craft activities, face painting, meet ups with cows, bug hunts, and fitness trails, together with visits from Hertfordshire Fire Service and Hertfordshire Police Service.

Three new circular walking routes have been mapped out as part of the initiative  ‘Beyond Hartham Common”, connecting communities to green open spaces, encouraging low impact exercise and to help improve general health and wellbeing.

Volunteers will take to the streets of East Herts throughout June at anti-idling events in support of Clean Air Day, educating motorists on the need to switch off their engines when stopped. These events are being supported by the Hertfordshire Climate Change and Sustainability Partnership (HCCSP), of which East Herts is a member, through training and the provision of resources to communicate with motorists.
